Original puzzles, clear reasoning

GridMew is an independent browser home for cat placement logic puzzles. The goal is a short, understandable solve: place one cat in every row, column and connected region, keeping cats from touching along an edge or a corner. More distant diagonal cats are allowed.

The first collection contains 240 original boards: 80 each at 5×5, 6×6 and 8×8. They were generated for GridMew, checked for connected regions and unique solutions, and replayed through an independent rule validator. Rotation, reflection and region relabelling are normalized when checking duplicates.

A place to practice

Practice mode lets you choose size and a reasoning-based difficulty. The daily challenge follows a published UTC schedule, while the learning path and 60 selected walkthroughs explain actual original boards. Difficulty labels are provisional rule-based groupings; they are not a claim that every player finds the same puzzle equally hard.

Hints reveal an observation before an explanation and a proposed action. Your notes and local records belong to this browser; there is no account, global ranking or cloud synchronization.

Independent by design

GridMew is not affiliated with or endorsed by Oakever Games, Meowdoku, LinkedIn or other puzzle publishers. Similar placement rules do not imply matching levels or a shared puzzle source. GridMew IDs identify our own boards.

Brand illustrations were made for this project using ImageGen. Mathematical board diagrams come from the actual puzzle data rather than generated artwork. Read how verification works, or contact GridMew.
